Carcassonne Michelin star chef Michel Del Burgo passed away

Carcassonne Michelin star chef Michel Del Burgo passed away at the hospital in Paris, after a long illness.

In Carcassonne, Michel Del Burgo had been at the head of La Barbacane from 1991 to 1996, where he had acquired two stars from the Michelin Guide.

The chef then worked for several Joël Robuchon establishments around the world. In 2012, he had three stars for L'Atelier Robuchon in Hong Kong.

In October 2012, he returned to Carcassonne to direct the kitchens of l'Hôtel 111. He quickly obtained a star in the Michelin Guide. This return to the Aude was of short duration due to the liquidation of the establishment in June 2013.

Michel Del Burgo then went back to Asia to launch high-end restaurants for an investor. He was 55 years old.
